Are you planning on going to Japan, but worried about your height?
Here is helpful information and advice for you tall girls! :)
First off, the average height for Japanese girls in Japan is around 158 cm (5'2). Compared to the west, the average is atleast above the 160cm mark. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_height) so western girls are genetically just taller.
You'll never have to worry about being too short in Japan, but being tall is another thing... especially if you're hoping to date a guy who isn't up to your waist. Now, you really shouldn't put too much thought into this whole height thing if you are a very tall girl. Most of the guys in Japan are around that 170cm (5'6 -5'7) ... and if you're taller than that, you'd be surprised there are EVEN TALLER guys once in a while that cross 180cm.
You also shouldn't compare yourself with Japanese girls heights. Yes, they are short and you get the whole "small and cute girl" thing going on, but you'd be surprised how envious they would be of your height! In Asia, being tall means your future will be good. So don't be self conscious about your length as it is a very positive trait! :)
